NCAA Tournament Notes

• The ACC has had a team in the Women’s College Cup in 40 of the past 41 NCAA Tournaments and in each of the past 17 years.

• The ACC has 57 appearances in the College Cup – the most of any conference (the next closest conference is the Pac-12 with 29 appearances). Current membership combines for 69 appearances.

• Current ACC membership combines for 27 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championships. North Carolina owns 21 NCAA titles and Florida State owns three, while Notre Dame won three prior to joining the league in 2013.

• ACC teams hold a 19-7-1 record in this year’s NCAA Tournament, as a nation-best two teams earned spots in this year’s College Cup.

• Florida State returns to the College Cup for the 13th time and seeks its second-straight National Championship. The Seminoles have won three national crowns, all of which came in the last eight seasons (2014, 2018 and 2021).

• Top-seeded Florida State defeated third-seeded Arkansas 1-0 in the Elite Eight to seal its spot in Cary. With the win, the Seminoles are unbeaten in their last 10 NCAA Tournament matches.

• North Carolina makes its nation-best 31st appearance in the College Cup, having won 21 national titles; the most among all Division I programs.

• Since 2010, ACC teams have met six times in the College Cup, including national championship matchups in 2014 and 2018. Friday’s contest will be the first semifinal matchup between ACC teams since 2020.

• Duke’s Michelle Cooper is currently tied for the tournament lead with six goals in her four tournament appearances. North Carolina’s Ally Sentnor follows with five goals.

• North Carolina’s Avery Patterson leads the tournament with five assists, headlined by a three-assist performance in the Tar Heels’ third-round win over BYU on Nov. 19.
