Argentina were beaten by Saudi Arabia in one of the biggest World Cup shocks ever, Germany lost to Japan in another underdog turnaround, and Canada really ought to have made it a hat-trick against Belgium but missed a slew of chances.
England surprised us in a different way, comfortably beating Iran, but they have lost to USA before. You wouldn’t bet on it happening again on Friday evening based on the US’ 1-1 draw against Wales – or would you?
