The Mesquite Outlaws Hire Antonio “Tony” Rodriguez for Business Development

Antonio “Tony” Rodriguez joins the staff of the Mesquite Outlaws for Business Development. Rodriguez grew up in the Mesquite-Dallas area but was born in Mexico.

Rodriguez is currently the Sporting United Proprietor, a soccer academy established in 2011, which competes in various leagues and tournaments in and out of North Texas, including Classic League, PPL, Frontier League, Dallas Cup, State Cup, Regionals, and Nationals. Sporting United has also produced player that have been called to play on the US National Team and the Mexican National Team. He is also one of the founders of North Texas Rayados Academy, a soccer team based in Dallas that has competed in the North Texas Premier Soccer League and participated in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup nine times between 2011 to 2020.


Rodriguez was also the former head coach for Paul Quinn College in Dallas, coaching Mesquite Outlaws players such as Sebastian Mendez and Axel Chakounte. He also is a national champion, in 2006, with Richland College, one of the Dallas College campuses.

“I am beyond excited to be on this project,” Rodriguez said.

“Seeing our local talent and my former players play at the next level, makes this a lot more enjoyable.”

Rodriguez is well-known in the Mesquite area, where he grew up. He runs the Indoor Soccer World Mesquite, an indoor soccer facility, located off Highway 80. He also has many connections with local soccer teams and coaches in Dallas, bringing a lot of value to the Mesquite Outlaws, as they reboot after a two-year hiatus.

The Mesquite Outlaws staff and players continue to build before their Home Opener on December 3rd at the Mesquite Arena. They take on the Monterrey Flash, who like the Outlaws, are returning to the Major Arena Soccer League after time away.

The Mesquite Outlaws will have a two preseason matches on November 26th against the Amarillo Bombers in Mesquite. This will be open to the public, parking and entry are free.
