FC Dallas sign defender Nolan Norris to homegrown contract

FC Dallas have signed academy defender Nolan Norris to a first-team homegrown contract.

Norris’ deal will keep him at the Texas club through the 2025 MLS season with further options on 2026 and 2027.

Alongside Tarik Scott, Norris is the second academy product to sign a professional contract with Dallas this week alone. In total, the club have now signed 35 players to homegrown deals in their history, tying Real Salt Lake’s MLS record.

“I’m blessed. Since I joined the academy at the age of 12, this is something I’ve envisioned since that day,” Norris said in a club press release. “And for this to come true, it’s just a testament to the hard work and all the support my coaches, teammates and everybody that’s put into me. And the hard work starts now. So I’m really excited.”

At just 17 years old, Norris already has professional experience having played 10 times for FC Dallas’ MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, North Texas SC, in 2022.

The left-back is also capped seven times for the United States across various youth levels, scoring once.

Norris will join a number of other homegrown players on the FC Dallas roster, including Jesus Ferreira, Paxton Pomykal, and Brandon Servania.

He’ll also hope to follow in the footsteps of other notable FC Dallas youth products that have gone on to enjoy success in Europe and with the United States Men’s National Team, including Weston McKennie, Chris Richards, Ricardo Pepi, and Reggie Cannon.
