Contracts

American right-back Brooks Lennon has agreed a 3-year contract with Major League Soccer side Atlanta United.

 


Transfers

In the MLS there were two transfers. Orlando City paid £400,000 for Toronto full-back Luca Petrasso. Nashville paid £250,000 for Fafa Picault from Houston Dynamo.

 


Injury Round Up

Chelsea right-back Reece James is out of the England squad due to his knee injury suffered on 11th October: “The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight. But I always felt it was possible. I’ve worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and truly believed I could help the team. I appreciate there was a risk on both sides, but it was one I was willing to take. Good luck to the boys. I’ll be back soon. Stay safe and sending love.”

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has told South Korean fans that he will be fit to play in the World Cup: “I won’t miss this for the world. I can’t wait to represent our beautiful country. Wigan Athletic defender Jason Kerr’s season is over after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Leicester City full-back James Justin has ruptured an Achilles tendon. The 24-year-old will be out for the rest of the season after having an operation to repair it.

 


Job Changes

Former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is to step down from the role of AC Milan CEO next month. The South African had been with the Serie A side since 2018. RedBird, the American investment group took over Milan at the start of the season.

Bristol City have appointed Brian Tinnion as their new Technical Director. Tinnion has previously been a player and manager at Bristol, and was currently working as the club’s academy director, a role he will continue to fulfil alongside his new job.

Southampton have appointed Nathan Jones as the new first team manager. Jones will be leaving his role as manager of Luton Town in the Championship to take up the new position on a 3 and a half year contract.
