Liverpool ‘set their sights’ on €30m ‘sensation’ and ‘rift’ is making Prem transfer more likely

Liverpool target Moukoko

Liverpool have reportedly ‘set their sights’ on signing Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko and they have learned how much he will cost.

The 17-year-old is enjoying a breakout season in 2022/23 after previously being a bit-part player for the Bundesliga outfit.

The striker has stepped up in the absence of Erling Haaland to grab six goals and four assists in 13 league outings.

His performances are gaining him more admirers and Dortmund are running the risk of losing the promising youngster in the next few months.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with Moukoko of late, with it claimed around two weeks ago that the ‘sensation’ has ‘blown away’ Jurgen Klopp.

The Unique Sports Group and Mino Raiola’s agency are in the running and they hope that ‘their connections in England can lure him to their network’.

Dortmund ‘have a contract ready to be signed’ but this is on hold with Moukoko’s parents handling his affairs after his current agent was ‘accused of greed’.

This ongoing ‘rift’ is said to be opening the door for Premier League clubs to sign Moukoko as his next agent could make a ‘quick and sizeable profit’.

A separate report from Fichajes has revealed that La Liga giants FC Barcelona are also keeping an eye on Moukoko’s progress.

They state that ‘everything indicates that he could leave at the end of the season as a free agent’.

Barcelona face potential disappointment though as it is noted that Liverpool are ‘one of the favourites’ to sign him.

Fichajes then cite SportBILD‘s original report to say that the ‘Borussia Dortmund player asks for a salary of 7 million euros per season’.

To put these wage demands into context, it is pointed out that this is what Rafael Leao asked for when he penned a new deal at AC Milan.

It is said that these weighty demands would ‘complicate things’ for Barcelona as they would view this level of investment as being…
