Rosales Tabbed Pac-12 Player of the Week

SEATTLE – Washington men’s soccer midfielder Imanol Rosales has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

This is the first Player of the Week honor of Rosales’ career.

In the Huskies’ Pac-12 clinching match against UCLA on Thursday, Rosales tallied an assist on Ilijah Paul’s goal in the eighth minute that put Washington on top.

Rosales had his third multi-assist performance of the season against San Diego State on Sunday. In addition, Rosales had his second goal of the season in the 77th minute as the Huskies secured the 3-0 win over the Aztecs. His four points versus SDSU set a new career-high for the junior.

This season, Rosales has 10 assists, which leads the Pac-12 and fifth in the nation in that category. His three assists on the weekend jumped him into the Top 10 in Washington program history with 22 in his career.

This is the sixth Pac-12 Player of the Week accolade for the Huskies this season with Christian Soto (Aug. 29), Ilijah Paul (Sept. 5, Sept. 19), Lucas Meek (Oct. 10) and Gio Miglietti (Oct. 31) earning honors earlier this year.

Rosales is fifth different Husky to earn the award equaling a Pac-12 record in a season which was set by UCLA in 2011.

Washington closes out the regular season against Oregon State on Thursday night. Kickoff from Husky Soccer Stadium is set for 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
