Now that MLS is officially into the offseason, here are some key dates all Rapids fans should know before the Burgundy Boys return to the pitch in 2023.
November 7 – Trade Window Opens
The Rapids can begin making offseason movements and facilitate transactions with other clubs in the league.
November 9 – Trade Window Closes
The Rapids’ front staff can no longer make any official transactions until after the Expansion Draft.
November 11 – Expansion Draft
MLS newcomers, St. Louis City, will take their five picks from the league’s list of eligible players as the expansion side of 2023. The draft will be available to watch on MLSsoccer.com or MLS app.
November 21 – USA v Wales
The Rapids have partnered with The DNVR Bar to serve as the Colorado soccer community’s World Cup Hub in November. Find a complete schedule of key matches to watch, details on giveaways and prizes, and how to cheer on your country’s team with DNVR here!
Mid-November – Home Opener Announcement
We know you can’t wait to get back in the stands of DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, so watch out for our official home opener announcement coming mid-month.
November 25 – USA v England
Head to The DNVR Bar to support the Stars & Stripes in their first group stage match!
November 29 – USA v Iran
Mid-December – Schedule Release
MLS and the Colorado Rapids will announce the full 2023 regular season schedule in December. Stay locked in on socials at @ColoradoRapids and online at coloradorapids.com to catch the release and start planning your season with us!
December 21 – MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas
The three-round SuperDraft will see two first-round picks for the Rapids, including one acquired through Colorado’s mid-season trade with Toronto FC. Stay tuned on all SuperDraft news at MLSsoccer.com.
January 4 – Preseason Begins
Your Burgundy Boys can officially report back to work and prepare for the 2023 season.
February 25 – MLS Regular Season Begins
The day we’ve all been waiting for — MLS is back.
