November 4, 2022 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) – Mesquite Outlaws News Release
Mesquite Outlaws welcome midfielder, David Ortiz, for the 2022-2023 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
David Ortiz is from McKinney, Texas. This will be his third season playing in the Major Arena Soccer League. Ortiz won Rookie of the Year award in the 2020-2021 season. Over the span of his MASL career, Ortiz has scored 8 goals and 6 assists in both regular season and playoffs.
Ortiz is currently on the United States Men’s National Fustal Team and was called up to the 2021 FIFA Futsal World cup. Prior to the MASL, Ortiz played for the FC Dallas Academy, CD Guijuelo, and Envigado FC.
“Being under such legendary coaches such as Tatu, Nick Stavrou, and Sagu is one of the reasons why I am excited to be joining Mesquite,” said Ortiz.
“This year, my main goal and focus is to grow and mature and under these coaches, I feel I can do that. I am excited to continue to learn and develop as not only a player, but as a person, surrounded by a great group of players and coaching staff.”
