Son Heung-Min will undergo checks on Wednesday after suffering a nasty head injury in Tottenham’s last-gasp 2-1 win at Olympique Marseille on Tuesday.

Spurs clinched top spot in their UEFA Champions League group after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s 95th-minute winner.

But the North London club were not helped with Son forced off in the 29th minute after copping a knock to his head.

Son copped a shoulder to the left side of his face from Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba when contesting an aerial in the 24th minute.

Spurs assistant coach Cristian Stellini, who stepped in for the suspended Antonio Conte offered an update.

“We have to check Sonny tomorrow,” Stellini said. “We wait for the medical assessment… we have to check tomorrow.

“Sonny feels better now. I saw him in the dressing room. He celebrated with us. So, we will wait for tomorrow.

“It is his face. His eye is a bit swollen.”

The injury comes at a bad time for Son and Spurs, who are due to host Liverpool on Sunday.

Son is also hoping to be fully available for South Korea at the upcoming World Cup.

South Korea are in Group H alongside Portugal, Ghana and Uruguay.
