2022 Big Ten Tournament Bracket

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (9-2-5) opens 2022 Big Ten Tournament competition as the No. 3 seed and will play host to No. 6 Michigan State (6-8-2) Friday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. First touch is scheduled for 7 p.m. with B1G+ providing the live stream.

Admission and parking are free.

The Spartans provided the competition in the final regular season home game for the Buckeyes Oct. 25. Ohio State came away with the win, 2-1, behind goals from junior Laurence Wootton and sophomore Nathan Demian.

  • Ranked No. 18 nationally, Ohio State enters the 2022 Big Ten Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Buckeyes are 20-26-2 all-time in the league tournament, including a 3-4 record as the No. 3 seed.
  • The Buckeyes are 4-5 in league tournament play vs. the Spartans and when playing in Columbus, Ohio State is 9-4 in BTT competition.
  • Ohio State last played host to a league tournament game in 2015 as the No. 1 seed. The Buckeyes defeated Penn State (1-0, ot) and Rutgers (4-0) before a loss to Maryland (0-2).
  • The Buckeyes finished 7-0-2 at home during the 2022 regular season. Ohio State was 8-0-1 in 2010 and 4-0-1 in 1974 and 4-0-0 in both 1965 and 1967 to mark the only other undefeated home seasons in Ohio State history. The seven home wins this year are the most since a 10-2-2 record at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in 2015.
  • Ohio State enters postseason competition at 9-2-5 overall, the most wins since the 2015 team posted a 13-7-3 overall record. The Buckeyes have won 10 or more games in a season 19 times previously.
  • Ohio State’s regular-season record (9-2-5) is tied for the best in program history in terms of fewest losses. The Buckeyes tied the previous best regular-season record (7-2-0) posted by the 1967 Buckeyes. The 2022 record of 9-2-5 also is the best in the Big Ten era (1991-present). Previously, the 2007 teams had the fewest losses in a season at 17-4-5.
