Three Lady Vols Earn All-SEC Honors

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Three Lady Vols landed on All-SEC teams as announced by the league office on Sunday.

Redshirt-junior Jaida Thomas and sophomore Taylor Huff earned First Team All-SEC honors while fifth-year senior Mackenzie George was named Second Team All-SEC.

A 2021 Second Team All-American, Thomas has amassed 12 goals on the season to tie for first in the league in total goals and rank first in goals per game with an average of .71. She has logged three game-winning goals this year, including the lone goal in UT’s 1-0 victory on the road against No. 13 Ole Miss. She now has 11 game-winners in her career, tying for fourth-most in program history, and her 37 career goals rank second all-time at Tennessee, just six behind No. 1 Kylee Rossi. It is Thomas’ third time making an all-conference team, having been named to the All-SEC Second Team last season and the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2020.

Huff ranks second on the team in total points with 17, having logged five goals, two of which were game-winners, and seven assists during her second year on Rocky Top. The 2021 SEC Freshman of the Year leads UT in assists and ranks first on the team in shots on goal. If the season ended today, her seven assists would tie for sixth all-time among Lady Vol sophomores. Following her rookie campaign, she earned Second Team All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman team honors.

George has tallied four goals and six assists on the season, ranking eighth in the league in assists per game. Her current total of 21 career assists as a Lady Vol ranks seventh in program history. She previously earned Second Team All-SEC honors in 2021 and was named to the All-SEC First Team in 2021.

No. 21 Tennessee with enter the SEC Tournament as the No. 3 seed, facing off on Tuesday with sixth-seeded Georgia at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT in Pensacola, Fla.
