EVANSTON, Ill. –– No. 2 seed Northwestern (13-3-2, 7-2-1 B1G) opens up the Big Ten Tournament when it takes on No. 7 seed Rutgers (13-3-2, 5-3-2 B1G) on Sunday at Martin Stadium. The game will kick off at Noon CT and can be seen on B1G+.

The Wildcats closed out the regular season in Columbus, shutting out then-No. 17 Ohio State 2-0. The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead after a Josie Aulicino corner kick found the head of Emma Phillips, who headed the ball home for her third goal of the season to put the ‘Cats up 1-0. The goal also marked Aulicino’s eighth assist, tied for most in the Big Ten. Two minutes later, Meg Boade doubled the NU lead off an assist from Aurea del Carmen. The goal marked Boade’s sixth of the year and gave del Carmen her fifth assist. The ‘Cats held Ohio State scoreless for the remainder of the game to secure the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

- Eight Wildcats (Caterina Regazzoni, Meg Boade, Aurea del Carmen, Rowan Lapi, Emma Phillips, Mia Raben, Josie Aulicino, and Danika Austin) received All-Big Ten honors, the most in program history, and more than any other school this year.
