Kansas City Current Appoints Maggie Walters Foltz as New General Counsel

KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Current takes on the Portland Thorns in the National Women’s Soccer League Championship match Saturday, Oct. 29 with kickoff at 7:00 p.m. CT.

In its first-ever primetime spot live from Audi Field in Washington, D.C., the match between the Kansas City Current and Portland Thorns FC will begin at 7 p.m. CT on The CBS Television Network, Paramount+ and internationally on Twitch, with live pre-match coverage beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT streaming exclusively on Paramount+.


Broadcasting veteran Jenn Hildreth will team up with two-time Olympic gold medalist Aly Wagner to call the match. In addition, former U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder and KC Current color commentator Lori Lindsey and CBS Sports reporter Jenny Chiu will report from the pitch, while CBS Sports’ Christina Unkel will provide rules analysis.

Kansas Citians of all ages are welcome to join fellow fans at Union Station’s Haverty Family Yards for the Current’s official watch party.RSVPs are highly encouraged. Food and beverage will be available for purchase from local food trucks and bars set up with Boulevard Brewing Co. products. Fans can also visit the Teal Mobile to purchase Kansas City Current team gear.

The Championship match will be broadcast locally beginning at 7 p.m. CT on Sports Radio 810 WHB with Dave Borchardt and Jon Schriner on the call. Local sportscaster Nate Bukaty will lead a pregame show beginning at 6pm live from the watch party at Union Station.

Sports Radio 810 WHB’s Jack Johnson will be live on Friday afternoon from Boulevard Brewing Co. beginning at 4:30pm. He will be giving live updates on the Current during “The Program with Soren Petro”. The Current’s Teal Mobile will be onsite for fans to purchase gear from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Kansas City Current is the first team to reach the NWSL Championship in a season following a last-place finish. The historic match will be broadcast nationally in primetime on CBS.
