CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia women’s soccer team (12-2-3, 5-2-2 ACC) closes out the regular season on the road when the Cavaliers take on Miami (5-7-3, 2-6-1 ACC) in a 6 p.m. contest Thursday (Oct. 27).

• Virginia remained No. 8 in the coaches poll heading into the final week of the regular season.
• UVA is No. 7 in the latest RPI and was sixth in the inaugural DI selection committee rankings.
• The Hoos close the regular-season at Miami and lead the all-time series 14-2-1 with four straight wins in the series. Both Miami wins in the series have come at home at Cobb Stadium.
• Maggie Cagle continues to deliver for the Hoos in her freshman campaign after hitting the game-winning goal against Wake Forest. Cagle now has nine assists and three goals (two game winners).
• Cagle entered the week tied for fourth nationally in game-winning assists as one of only six players to have at least five game-winning assists. She is 10th nationally in assists and second in the ACC.
• Alexa Spaanstra is coming off a brace and an assist against NC State for a career-high five points.
• Spaanstra made her 101st career start and appearance vs. NC State to set a new UVA record in both categories and passes previous record holder Laurel Ivory (2021).
• Haley Hopkins is among the NCAA leaders in total goals (15th – 11) and points (18th – 26). She is tied for the league lead in total goals and is third in the ACC in total points this season.
• As a team, Virginia is in the top three in the ACC in scoring offense (2.53 gpg), goals (43) and points (122) – tying for the ACC lead in goals. The Hoos also rank in the top 12 nationally in each category.
• Defensively, the Cavaliers have been stout and are second in the ACC and rank eighth nationally in shutout percentage. The Hoos have posted 11 shutouts overall with consecutive clean sheets.
• UVA had four players in the midseason top 100 list from Top Drawer Soccer: Godfrey (8th), Staude (17th), Spaanstra (23rd) and Hopkins (60th)….
