Minnesota United Names Amos Magee as Vice President of Youth Development

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – Minnesota United announced today that Amos Magee, formerly Director of Player Personnel, will now oversee the entire MNUFC Youth Development Program as the Vice President of Youth Development.


In his new role, Magee will manage the coaching staff, oversee the Academy and develop the infrastructure of the Pro Player Pathway-a path for players to move from youth soccer to the Academy, MNUFC2, and the first team. He will foster collaborative relationships throughout the Minnesota youth soccer community, with the goal of growing membership and assisting with elite player development.

“We are excited for Amos Magee to move into this role and continue our efforts to enhance our Youth Development Program and strengthen our commitment to all soccer players in Minnesota,” said MNUFC Chief Soccer Officer Manny Lagos. “He brings with him both a deep connection to the Minnesota soccer community and a strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of youth soccer in our state, which will allow him to help develop our athletes into professional players while continuing to grow the game at all levels.”

Saint Paul native Magee has been with Minnesota United since 2016. In his previous role as Director of Player Personnel, Magee worked closely with Technical Director Mark Watson in developing the Loons’ sporting vision as it pertains to strategic growth and player recruitment. Additionally, Magee helped build the analytics department, scouted players from across the globe and worked with the coaching staff to construct a competitive roster representing the club’s technical vision and community values.
