Man Utd boosted as £40.5m-rated striker admits he’s eyeing move to ‘massive club’

Man Utd target David

Lille striker Jonathan David has confirmed that he is eyeing a move to a “massive club” in the future amid reports linking him with Man Utd.

The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a new striker soon with it looking like Cristiano Ronaldo will leave either in January or next summer.

Should he depart, Man Utd will be left with just Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to choose from and the latter has struggled with injuries this season.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that United have drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace Ronaldo.

A move for David is on the agenda, while Patrick Schick and Moussa Dembele are the other two players on United’s list.

“I think with the experience that I’ve had here in France, it will help me a lot if I need to adapt to some place else a lot faster. I think both leagues suit me.”

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently praised David as he thinks the forward “could be a great solution” for United.

“Man Utd struggled in attack again [on Sunday] as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Newcastle, so will they make changes up front in January?” Romano told Caught Offside.

“There are some good options out there – I always mention Jonathan David as I think he’s really underrated and could be a great solution, but we have to wait for the World Cup to see which clubs will move for him.

“I think it’s just a difficult moment for Man Utd without scoring goals; and I also think Cristiano Ronaldo can never be described as a problem, only a solution for the team. I wouldn’t panic –…
