Virginia Women's Soccer | Cayla White Named United Soccer Coaches Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior goalkeeper Cayla White of the Virginia women’s soccer team has been named the national Player of the Week by the United Soccer Coaches it was announced by the organization on Wednesday (Oct. 5).

White earned the honor – her first from the organization – after helping the Cavaliers to a shutout victory at No. 4 Duke over the weekend.

White posted the clean sheet in the win over the Blue Devils, making six saves to help deliver the win for Virginia. The six saves is one off her career high as White posted her sixth shutout of the season and eighth of her career. She improved to 8-1-1 on the season and is now 14-1-1 for her career in goal.

Virginia returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 6) when the Cavaliers host No. 3 Florida State in an 8 p.m. contest at Klöckner Stadium.
