Wildcats Battle No. 10 Rutgers to 1-1 Draw


EVANSTON, Ill. –– Northwestern and Rutgers ended in a 1-1 tie Thursday (Sept. 29) at home in front of a packed crowd at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.

Northwestern moved to 9-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in Big Ten action following the stalemate.

How it Happened

Northwestern took a 1-0 lead when Aurea del Carmen notched her fourth goal of the season in the 9th minute, assisted by Meg Boade and Ella Hase.

The Scarlet Knights leveled the match on a goal from Allison Lowrey in the 48th minute, assisted by Sara Brocious. The 1-1 score held to the end of the game.

  • The Wildcats extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games, tied for the longest in program history
