COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State enjoyed its best night of the year, scoring four times in a dominant 4-0 shutout at Indiana on Thursday. The win improves the Buckeyes to 7-2-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in Big Ten play.

Four different Buckeyes scored goals on the night while junior midfielder Kine Flotre tied the program’s single-game record with three assists.

How it Happened

The Buckeyes played on the attack all evening. The scoring started in the 20th minute as Kine Flotre played a nice through ball to Kailyn Dudukovich who found the back of the net for her third goal of the season and her second goal in as many games.

The score stayed 1-0 until the Buckeyes notched three goals in a 14-minute span in the second half. The barrage started as Flotre corralled a loose ball and floated a perfect ball across the box that Peyton McNamara went up and headed home. That pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute.

Senior Kitty Jones-Black collected a rebound at the top of the box and hit a beautiful strike into the upper corner of the net for her first goal of the year and the first since April of 2021.

The fourth and final goal came just over four minutes later as Kayla Fischer took a pass from Flotre and made a couple of nice moves to find herself open in front of the net. She easily slipped a shot past the IU keeper and the Buckeyes had a 4-0 lead.

All three Buckeye goalkeepers saw action on Thursday, including junior Haley Roberts, who made her collegiate debut and closed out the final six minutes.

Ohio State out-shot Indiana 23-8 on the night and 12-3 in shots on goal.
