Match Story:

The Halifax Wanderers Football Club returns to Canadian Premier League action when they host Pacific FC at the Wanderers Grounds on Tuesday night.


It’s a match that was initially scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24 but postponed due to post-tropical storm Fiona.

The Wanderers last played on Friday, September 16 in a 0-0 draw against York United FC.

For his play in that scoreless draw, Wanderers defender Cristian Campagna was named to the CPL Team of the Week for the second time in four matches since joining Halifax.

The Wanderers enter today’s match with a record of eight wins, five draws and 12 losses to sit in seventh place in the league standings through 25 matches.

Pacific FC last played on Sunday, Sept. 18, in a 1-1 draw against Forge FC. They are currently fifth in the league table with a record of 10 wins, seven losses and seven draws.

Following this match, the Wanderers welcome Atlético Ottawa on Saturday, October 1.

Captains:

Andre Rampersad retains the captain’s armband for the 2022 campaign. Peter Schaale is the Wanderers’ alternate captain.

Coaches:

This is Stephen Hart’s fourth season in charge of the Wanderers after he signed a three-year extension in 2021. This season, Hart is joined by assistant coach Alejandro Dorado. Before joining the Wanderers, Dorado most recently served as assistant coach to Rafa Benitez at Dalian PRO in the Chinese Super League. Jan-Michael Williams remains the Wanderers’ goalkeeping coach.

The Wanderers have 15 returning players from the 2021 season. Captain Andre Rampersad is supported by a core that includes CPL veterans Peter Schaale and Akeem Garcia. New players include midfielder Aidan Daniels, 2022 MLS first-round draft pick Mohamed Omar and Wanderers 2022 draft pick Colin Gander.
