CARY, NC – Marvin Mariche has signed a professional contract with North Carolina FC, the club announced today. The deal is a two-year term, and is pending league and federation approval.

“I’m truly blessed and excited to announce that I have signed my first professional contract with North Carolina FC,” Mariche said. “I want to thank God, my family, my friends, and my coaches for pushing me every day to be the best, the work continues!”

A true example of NCFC’s commitment to youth to pro development, Mariche has played with the club for nine years. The forward joined the first team during the 2020/2021 season on an Academy contract, making his professional debut in a match against the Richmond Kickers in July of last year. The 18-year-old has since collected three appearances with NCFC, and most recently signed his second Academy contract with the club at the beginning of the 2022 season.

Mariche first spent time in the CASL Del Sol Program in 2014, later playing with CASL Black and CASL Red South from 2015 to 2016. From 2017 to 2018, he played with the Capital Area RailHawks Academy teams, and in 2019 began playing with the NCFC U-15 Academy team, progressing to the U-17 team and the U-19 teams prior to joining the NCFC U-23s USL League Two squad and inking his first Academy contract. While with the U-23s, Mariche led the team in assists and was second in goals scored (three assists, three goals).

The forward also boasts playing experience with the United States Youth National team, receiving a call up to U-15 USYNT camp in 2018.

“I am thrilled for Marvin to start his professional career here at North Carolina FC,” said Head Coach John Bradford. “He has been such an important part of our club’s youth to pro pathway, featuring at many levels, all of which have assisted him in his development. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing Marvin’s development through the CASL Del Sol Program and Classic Program, our Academy Program, our USL-2 Program, and in our professional environment. Over the course of the last two seasons, Marvin has grown tremendously through his interactions with the NCFC pro team. I anticipate him to factor into our plans for the rest of this season and our future.”
