Ratcliffe ‘wants’ PSG advisor to ‘lead’ Man Utd but Chelsea ‘offer €8m salary’ and €300m for transfers

Ratcliffe targets Man Utd

Sir Jim Ratcliffe ‘wants’ PSG advisor Luis Campos to ‘lead the club’s sporting policy’ if his takeover of Manchester United is finalised.

The British billionaire was among those interested in buying Chelsea earlier this year but he ultimately missed out to American businessman Todd Boehly.

Ratcliffe has now turned his attention to Man Utd, who are currently owned by the Glazer family.

Their relationship with the club’s supporters has soured in recent years and this worsened when their involvement in the European Super League was revealed.

Club legend Gary Neville has spoken out more than most against the owners. After United’s 4-0 loss against Brentford earlier this season, he urged Joel Glazer to travel to England to “start to divert the issues away from the club”:

Earlier this month it was revealed that the Glazer family are willing to sell Man Utd for £3.75bn.

A few weeks earlier, a spokesperson for Ratcliffe confirmed that he was interested in buying the club from the Glazers.

Ratcliffe currently owns Ligue 1 outfit Nice and French outlet Le Parisien are now reporting that ‘he wants Campos to lead the club’s sporting policy’ if he gains control of Man Utd.

This will not be easy though as Chelsea are also interested in the current PSG sporting advisor.

The 58-year-old was previously a scout and tactical analyst for Real Madrid while Jose Mourinho was in charge.

Campos was lauded for the work he did at Monaco as their sporting director between 2013 and 2016. He joined PSG before the 2022/23 campaign.

Chelsea are looking for a new sporting director and they are also being linked with Red Bull Salzburg’s Christoph Freund.
