WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 24 ranked Wake Forest women’s soccer team will conclude its 2022 non-conference slate Sunday when the Demon Deacons travel to face Loyola Maryland at Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md.
Kick-off is slated for 2 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

- A second half strike from Giovanna DeMarco proved to be the difference as Wake Forest defeated Maryland, 1-0, Thursday night at Ludwig Field in College Park, Md.
- The two sides were engaged in a defensive battle for most of the match until Olivia Stowell broke down the left side of the pitch, beating two Maryland midfielders, and fired a shot that ricocheted off the head of a Terrapin defender.
- Stowell then recovered possession of the ball and touched a pass over to DeMarco who blasted a shot towards the upper right corner of the net for her second tally of the season.
- Despite relentless attacking pressure from Maryland over the ensuing 25 minutes, Wake Forest held on to earn the 1-0 victory. The Demon Deacons logged their sixth clean sheet of the season while holding Maryland to only five shots.
