Arsenal-linked Mudryk causes chaos by admitting he ‘can’t say no’ to ‘very good’ Gunners

Reported Arsenal target Mykhaylo Mudryk during a warm-up

Mykhaylo Mudryk has said he would struggle to turn down a move to Arsenal, causing absolute mayhem on social media as a result.

The Shakhtar Donetsk winger, otherwise known as the ‘Ukrainian Neymar’, was linked with a summer move to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta was keen to bring a new winger to the club following Nicolas Pepe’s loan move to Ligue 1 club Nice.

He also tried to sign a defensive midfielder on deadline day as Aston Villa rejected three bids for Douglas Luiz.

Many Arsenal fans are now pretty disappointed with the club’s transfer business despite the early summer additions of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.

There is a belief among supporters that Arteta and technical director Edu have left the squad a bit too slim going into a season involving the Europa League and three domestic competitions.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are currently out injured, meaning the Spanish manager only has Sambi Lokonga and Granit Xhaka available out of his first-team central midfielders.

In terms of wingers, Arteta has Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Marquinhos at his disposal, while Emile Smith Rowe and Vieira can both operate as a wide player.

As well as Mudryk, the Gunners were linked with Wolves winger Pedro Neto and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.

Journalist Rudy Galetti discussed Arsenal’s interest in Mudryk last month.

Galetti said the 21-year-old was “pushing” to join Arsenal late in the window.

Shakhtar were asking for €50million to sell the player, while Everton and Nice had lodged bids worth €30m.

He added: “Arsenal was willing to reach the amount of around £30m and hoped that the player’s willingness would help to close the deal. But that wasn’t the case.”

Mudryk was in Champions League action for his side on Tuesday evening against RB Leipzig.

Shakhtar won the match 4-1 in Germany as the young winger notched a goal and two assists.

It is not surprising to see so much interest in Mudryk, and he has now revealed that he “dreams” of a move to the Premier League.

During an interview with CBS Sports, he was asked about Arsenal’s interest and admitted they are a “very good team” with a “very good coach” in Arteta.

“Shakhtar for me is my home,” Mudryk told Ben Jacobs. “All my thoughts are only about Shakhtar.

“In winter we [will] see.

“I think every guy dreams about [playing in the] Premier League.

“Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach. I like the way they…
