COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State (3-0-1) scored once in each half to knock off Wright State (0-3-1) Monday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
How it Happened
Parker Grinstead put Ohio State on the board first with a goal in the 20th minute following up on an earlier quality chance for the junior midfielder. The goal was the fourth of his career and first since his freshman season. Chris Dowling was credited with the assist, his second as a Buckeye and first of the season.
Freshman Marko Borkovic scored his second career goal in the 81st minute to put the game away for the undefeated Buckeyes.
Keagan McLaughlin was again stellar in goal, recording his third-consecutive shutout. He has allowed just one goal in four games this season in keeping opponents scoreless over the last 309 minutes of game action.

- The Buckeyes are off to the best start of a season (3-0-1) since 2010 when the team started 4-0. The 2014 campaign started with three-consecutive ties followed by a pair of victories (2-0-3).
- Senior Keagan McLaughlin has posted three-consecutive shutouts and has held opponents to just one goal over the first four games of the season. The Notre Dame transfer, has 13-career shutouts and three as a Buckeye.
- The Big Ten named Wootton its Offensive Player of the Week Aug. 30 for his efforts in the Wolstein Classic.
- Wootton, Deylen Vellios and Owen Sullivan are the designated captains for the 2022 season.
- Dating back to the 1997 season, Ohio State is 5-0-2 in the series vs. Wright State. The game Monday was the first in the series since Sept. 4, 2017, a 2-0 win for the Buckeyes at JOMS.
