When you struggle to give MOTM to just 1 player i think it tells you what a performance some of the Everton players put in today.

Pickford: He gets his fair share of critics but he was absolutely colossal today wasn’t he. Not only with his saves but his rallying of the players around him. Pulled off some world class saves and he seemed to stay level headed when we have seen him lose it a little bit in the past. Mature and commanding performance – great to see.

Patterson: Brilliant in both defense and attack. Considering people who had watched him in SPL were saying he wasn’t the best defensively he was a monster in that department today. Loved his attitude and desire. Watching him celebrate that disallowed goal shows he gets this club.

Coady and Tarks: both solid again. Great to see Coady celebrate the way he did, shame he didn’t get his Phil Neville on Ronaldo moment.

Mykolenko: Solid defensively again but don’t really get much from him going forward.

Davies: Didn’t play badly but didn’t play well either. Neither here nor there. I feel he always plays it safe so its hard to look good or bad when you approach a game that way. Not a starter in the 11 for me.

Iwobi: Great running again from the lad, he has a brilliant engine on him. Some lovely footwork in this and the Leeds United game which shows his confidence is growing. His passing was a lot better today as well. Frank deserves a lot of credit for turning him around and getting a tune out of him. As fans all we want as a minimum is work rate and he has it, now, in abundance.

Gordon: more of the same of his previous performances. It is becoming standard now isn’t it, it shows the level of his progression. Direct and always looking to make things happen, was a bit gutted he came off tbh as the next fella should have gone for me.

Gray: Starting to dislike his attitude in spells on the pitch. He seems to want it to be all about him, rather than the team. Saw it with him towards Patt at Leeds and today at Gordon. Gets caught out on the ball far too much when the intensity of the game is at its highest, he seems to dawdle. There was times today where he could have…
