Revolution II Hosts Orlando City B on Saturday

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (9-9-4; 32 pts.) defeated Orlando City B (6-11-5; 25 pts.), 2-0, on Friday night at Gillette Stadium. Revolution Academy goalkeeper Max Weinstein made two saves en route to his second career clean sheet. Academy forward Malcolm Fry and defender Ítalo each scored their first professional goals to seal New England’s ninth victory and seventh shutout of the season.


Revolution II recorded four shots on goal in the half as Fry broke through in the 40th minute, capitalizing on a cross from Marcos Dias to secure his first professional goal in his fifth appearance with New England’s second team, sending New England into halftime leading 1-0.

Ítalo extended Revs II’s lead in the 52nd minute, capitalizing on a cross in from Ryan Lima from the center of the box with a left-footed shot for his first MLS NEXT Pro goal.

New England now sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with just three points separating the second and sixth place teams.

With two games remaining in the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro regular season, Revolution II returns to action on September 10 when they travel to Belson Stadium to face NYCFC II. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Tonight’s win moves New England into sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 32 points. Three points separate second and sixth place with two games remaining in the regular season against potential playoff contenders, NYCFC II and Philadelphia Union II.

Academy forward Malcolm Fry scored his first professional goal in his first start with New England’s second team.

Defender Ítalo recorded his first MLS NEXT Pro goal in the 52nd minute as he surpassed 1,500 minutes played this season with his 90-minute appearance.

Academy goalkeeper Max Weinstein made two saves in the match en route to his second professional shutout.

Defender Sean O’Hearn made his 40th career start with Revolution II.

Midfielder Jake Rozhansky logged his 45th appearance with New England’s second team.
