Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was spotted in London on Thursday evening as he closed in on a £12m deadline-day move to Chelsea

The 33-year-old Barcelona forward jetted into the capital for his medical ahead of a £12million switch back to the Premier League. 

Talks over the Gabon striker have been ongoing for weeks and the Blues have long been optimistic of their chances of getting a deal done.

But there is now a race against time to thrash out an agreement with Barcelona before the 11pm deadline.

Sky Sports footage showed Aubameyang, 33, arriving in England in order to complete the deal. The video showed the ex-Arsenal striker getting out of a taxi in the capital with his representatives.

The deal will see Thomas Tuchel’s Blues pay £12million and send out of favour left back Marcos Alonso to the Nou Camp. 

It’s thought Aubameyang has agreed terms on an initial two-year deal.

Chelsea made a £15m bid to sign Aubameyang earlier this month, but look to have come to an agreement with the Catalan giants, crucially involving Alonso as part of the deal. 

Aubameyang’s move to the Blues was previously thought to have fallen through after the two sides had failed to strike an agreement, but Chelsea’s new offer would appear to be more to Barca’s liking. 

Barcelona are still keen on bringing in more faces to the Camp Nou, but must generate funds before doing so.
