Buckeyes Blank Flyers 4-0 – Ohio State Buckeyes

How it Happened

After a little feeling out, the Buckeyes finally found their footing 15 minutes in. Graduate Olivia Sensky played a long through ball to Emma Sears who dribbled to the front of the goal mouth and beat the Dayton keeper to put the Buckeyes up 1-0 in the 20th minute. It was Sears’ second goal of the season.

Sensky then started another play out of the back. She played a nice pass forward to Sears on the right wing who then centered a pass to Peyton McNamara and the junior found the left corner of the net from the top of the box. The Buckeyes led 2-0 in the 32nd minute and would hold that lead until the half.

McNamara wasted little time in pushing the Buckeye lead to 3-0 early in the second half as she took a pass from Kine Flotre, turned and drove a shot from nearly 25 yards out. It found its way nicely inside the left post for her second goal of the night.

Sears wasn’t to be outdone. In the 66th minute, she went on a run down the right side, turned the corner and again beat the keeper from close range for her second goal of the evening. That put the Buckeyes firmly in front 4-0.

The combination of Kat Robinson and Molly Pritchard combined for their second shutout of the season.
