Ben Brereton Diaz could leave Blackburn for FREE with Celta Vigo and Nice weighing up pre-contract deals – but Everton and Fulham could also make a late raid this summer

  • Ben Brereton Diaz is entering the last year of his Blackburn Rovers contract
  • The forward has attracted interest from Spanish clubs and Nice in France
  • The continental sides are content to wait until January to offer a summer move
  • But Everton and Fulham could tempt Rovers into cashing in with late swoops

Ben Brereton Diaz is weighing up pre-contract options with Celta Vigo and Nice having already made proposals.

Both clubs have made offers to Blackburn Rovers this window and are willing to wait until January when Brereton-Diaz could agree to sign for them in the summer, when his contract at Ewood Park ends.

Valencia and Villarreal are also vying to convince Brereton-Diaz to sign a pre-contract. The Stoke-born forward has drawn offers from La Liga following his outstanding performances for his adopted country Chile.

There remains interest from Premier League clubs before Thursday’s 11pm deadline however.

Everton and Fulham are the two clubs to have expressed the strongest interest and are deemed most likely to try again over the next 24 hours with talks ongoing.

Fulham saw their move for Roma’s Justin Kluivert stall on Tuesday night after he was denied a work permit but they are also talking to Marseille regarding a deal for Bamba Dieng.

Everton have spoken to Wolves about Hwang Hee-Chan – also wanted by Leeds – have discussed Watford’s Joao Pedro and retain interest in a loan for Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

However, Brereton-Diaz’s energy, work ethic and goals make him an attractive option for the Goodison club’s hierarchy who have encouraged a move for the 23-year-old after he scored 22 goals last season and notched two already this term.
