Commodores Open Home Slate Thursday

  • The Commodores opened their 2022 season undefeated on the road, posting shutouts at both Evansville and Purdue.

  • Sara Wojdelko got the first start in goal this season, recording one save in her collegiate debut to pick up the win. She and Kate Devine split time at goalkeeper with junior Devine getting the nod at Purdue. Devine tied her career-high saves in the match, recording four, including one on the penalty kick in the waning minutes of the contest to keep her team up by one.

  • Rachel Deresky’s two-goal weekend led the team and earned the Maryland native SEC Forward of the Week honors. Both goals were game-winners.

  • Deresky, Caroline Betts and Raegan Kelley all scored at Evansville en route to the 3-0 victory before Deresky’s lone goal at Purdue lifted them to victory, 1-0, over the Boilermakers. 

  • Kelley and Deresky led the team in points last week (four). Deresky’s two goals and Kelley’s goal and two assists were tied for a team-best.
