Badgers Strike Twice in 63rd Minute to Down Baylor, 2-0

Loyola

WACO, Texas – Paced by goals by Adee Boer and Emma Jaskaniec in the 63rd minute, the Wisconsin women’s soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Baylor Sunday afternoon at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.

After lining three shots off in the first half, Wisconsin picked up the pace offensively coming out of the break, and tripled its shot total in the second stanza. Boer scored her first career goal off a cross from Izzy Verdugo, tapping it in just inside the six-yard box for the Badgers’ first goal of the season. Jaskaniec followed 35 seconds later by converting on a penalty kick.

Erin McKinney posted her second straight clean sheet in between the pipes, making 10 saves over 90 minutes, including three straight stops in the 87th minute to preserve the shutout.

The Badgers will head back to Madison for their home opener on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. versus Loyola.
