Manchester United are on the cusp of finally landing a major signing this off-season with Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro set to sign a four-year deal.

The Red Devils have been linked with numerous players this transfer window, including Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot without success.

On field, Erik ten Hag have started the new Premier League season disastrously, losing their first two games, including a 4-0 rout from Brentford.

All that has reinforced the need for reinforcements, with United reportedly set to secure a 70 million euro move for Casemiro claims Marca.

The 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder will join on a four-year contract with the option of a further season.

Real Madrid have agreed to allow Casemiro to head to United for a medical on Friday.

Casemiro does require a visa to play in the Premier League and thus may not be available for Monday’s league clash with Liverpool, even if signed on Friday.

The 63-cap Brazil international has been on Real’s books since 2013, having come through in his homeland with Sao Paulo.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Ajax forward Antony and PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo this week.

Meanwhile, Napoli could be a destination for Cristiano Ronaldo according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio claiming they are open to a swap deal with Hirving Lozano.
