BOSTON – The University at Albany men’s soccer team has been picked fourth in the 2022 America East Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the conference announced Tuesday.  The Great Danes earned a total of 33 points to fall in the tight top half of the poll.

Defending America East regular-season champion New Hampshire was picked as the unanimous favorite, earning 49 points and all seven possible first-place votes.  Vermont, who upset the Wildcats in the 2021 America East title game, was second, earning 38 points and the final remaining first-place vote.

New Hampshire, ranked #9 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason national poll, was picked as the favorite in the poll for the fourth-straight season.

UMBC slotted in just ahead of UAlbany with 35 points.  Behind the Great Danes was NJIT, UAlbany’s 2021 quarterfinal opponent, in fifth with 22 points, followed by a tie for sixth with Binghamton and UMass Lowell, earning 19 points each.  America East newcomer Bryant rounded out the poll with nine points.
