Chelsea ‘very interested’ in Harry Kane transfer as Bild journalist risks Antonio Conte wrath

The Tottenham striker, who pulled out all the stops in an attempt to move to Manchester City last year, has two years remaining on his current Spurs deal and has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.

Those rumours emerged in the wake of Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann waxing lyrical over the England captain.

“Very expensive, that’s the problem, but a brilliant player,” said Nagelsmann of Kane. “One of the best forwards, perhaps one of two or three centre forwards that who really can play centre forward.

“Last couple of years he didn’t really play centre forward, he dropped a little bit to number 10, he can play number 10 as well.

“Very strong, brilliant with his head, it could be possible that he could score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga. But it will be tough for Bayern Munich, we will see what will happen in the future.”

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte wasn’t best pleased with his counterpart’s comments, claiming the German manager broke one of his transfer rules

“I don’t like to speak about players from another club,” Conte said. “If I want to do something I go to speak to the club, not through the media.

“I think maybe it’s a bit disrespectful for the other club. This is my way. This is my way to face the situation with other players.”

And now Chelsea are risking the wrath of their former manager, or rather Bild journalist Christian Falk is, after one of the most obvious and pointless transfer statements of the window.

Falk, in his classic Twitter style, claimed it’s ‘TRUE’ that ‘Harry Kane is very interesting for Chelsea’.

Substitute Chelsea for any other top club in world football and that would surely still be TRUE, Christian. Still, clicks ahoy.

The journalist added that Spurs would prefer to sell Kane ‘to a club like Bayern’ rather than a direct Premier League rival. Again, obvious and pointless.

What’s more, Kane has shown no indication that he still wants to leave Spurs and is clearly very happy with the progress they’re making under Conte.
