CHICAGO – After securing its third straight win on Saturday night, Chicago Fire FC will return to the lakefront on Saturday, July 30, facing Eastern Conference rival Atlanta United FC as part of a doubleheader matchday event at Soldier Field.

Beginning at 4:00 p.m. CT, the MLS regular season contest will be televised on WGN-TV and CF97 Live , and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM. The Fire’s game will then be followed by an NWSL fixture between the Chicago Red Stars and the San Diego Wave, featuring a marquee matchup between USWNT players Mallory Pugh and Alex Morgan, both of whom currently rank in the top three for scoring in the league this season. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on Twitch.

Tickets are currently available for purchase. Fans who purchase tickets to attend the doubleheader event will have access to both games at Soldier Field on Saturday.

Entering the match, Chicago sits just two points shy of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and will be looking to extend their three-game winning streak when they take on Atlanta for the second time this season. The first meeting between the two sides this year resulted in a 4-1 victory for United on May 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Fire (7-10-5, 26 points) are coming off a 3-1 win on the road against Vancouver Whitecaps FC this past Saturday night. Designated Player Xherdan Shaqiri started the scoring for Chicago in the contest, followed by goals from captain Rafael Czichos and midfielder Chris Mueller to secure all three points on the road. With Saturday’s result, Chicago has now won five of their last eight games since June 18, outscoring their opponents 11-8 during that stretch. Atlanta (6-8-6, 24 points) sit in the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand on the Fire prior to their road match against the LA Galaxy at 8:30 p.m. CT tonight. Atlanta’s most recent outing resulted in a 1-1 draw against Orlando City at home, in which Mexican defender Juan José Purata, currently on loan from Tigres UANL, buried the equalizer in the 71st minute.

Saturday’s upcoming match between Chicago and Atlanta will be the 11th all-time meeting between the two sides, with the Fire historically dominating at home, holding a record of 4-1-0 when taking on Atlanta in Chicago.
