Juventus have confirmed the signing of Gleison Bremer, who has joined the club from Serie A rivals Torino for a fee worth around £45million. 

The 25-year-old centre-back was one of the standout performers in Italy last season and had been attracting notable interest during the summer transfer window. 

Inter Milan had long been linked with the Brazilian and earlier this month it was reported Tottenham were keen on bringing him in to bolster their backline, which would have linked Bremer up with fellow countryman Richarlison

However, with Juventus’ funds boosted by the sale of Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich, the club were able to outbid their rivals and bring the defender to Turin. 

Juventus have secured deal for an initial fee of £34.9million for the defender, rising to £45million in possible add-ons. 

Bremer has signed a five-year contract that will see him earn around £4.3million per season, working out at roughly £82k a week.

The signing of Bremer brings manager Massimiliano Allegri some much needed reinforcement in Juventus’ backline following the departures of De Ligt and Giorgio Chiellini.

Club legend Chiellini moved to LAFC after his contract with Juventus expired, while Dutch star De Ligt moved to Bayern Munich in a £68million deal earlier this week.
