Storylines

Adding Up: The Red Stars have lined up against the Dash twice so far this year, both times during the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. The Dash fell to the Red Stars each time they went toe to toe during the Challenge Cup, increasing the number of total Red Stars wins against the Dash to 12 out of their 24 all-time meetings (D8 L4).

Faces to Fear: Rookies for the Red Stars are proving themselves a force to be reckoned with this season, being key players in every match. Jill Aguilera, Ava Cook, Samantha Fisher, Sarah Griffith, and Amanda Kowalski have all made appearances in at least eight of the 11 games so far this season. Cook, Griffith, and Kowalski also recorded their first regular season goals as well, with Griffith and Kowalski having two apiece after their stoppage time goals in the last match against North Carolina, and Cook tied for the league lead in assists.

Knock on Wood: Chicago has one loss in its first 11 games, tied for the fewest losses this season with the Thorns. It also matches the fewest losses through 11 matches in the club’s NWSL history with the 2015 season when the team lost just once in their first 14 games.
