Arsenal bid for Lazio star as Juventus ready swoop for Gabriel

Man Utd target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic shrugs

Arsenal are hoping to turn the screw on either Lazio or Leicester as they prepare to bolster their midfield, while Real Madrid are hoping to spoil Liverpool’s plan for Jude Bellingham..

SMS IN, GABRIEL OUT AT ARSENAL?
There is an Arsenal theme running through many of the whispers this Friday morning. Though most of them feature the same old faces…

One of them being Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Lazio midfielder looks set to finally move on this summer, with the Rome club reportedly asking for £55million despite the Serbia star being only a year from the end of his contract. Tutto Juve says Arsenal are ready to submit a bid but the Gunners will open with an offer of £42million in the hope that Lazio see sense.

Youri Tielemans also remains in contention to bolster Arsenal’s engine room, with the Leicester midfielder waiting for the Gunners – or anyone else – to make a firm offer for this services. According to football.london, talks with the Belgian’s representatives ‘have been ongoing for a while’ and there is a suggestion they could land Tielemans for as little as £25million, which is perhaps why they are waiting, so as to force the Foxes in to a corner since they seem to need to sell Tielemans to fund their own recruitment.

Oleksandr Zinchenko also remains a target, according to The Athletic, but the Gunners are also considering Anderlecht’s Sergio Gomez, says Fabrizio Romano. Should they land either left-back, then Nuno Tavares could be on his way to Marseille.

Another defender who could be on his way is Gabriel Maghalhaes. Arsenal fans don’t tend to react well when rumours swell around the Brazilian and interest from Juventus remains, according to the Independent. Apparently the Old Lady sees Gabriel as an ideal replacement for Matthijs De Ligt.

Newcastle made a splendid, sensible start to their summer recruitment by strengthening their defence with the signings of Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Matt Targett. But the Magpies are finding it rather more difficult to add attackers.

The Telegraph says Newcastle have backed away from two of their main targets, Alexander Isak and Moussa Diaby, because Real Sociedad and Bayer Leverkusen are asking for silly money.

So the Toon are going back to the drawing board as they look for a striker who might also play off the left flank. When they…
