Leeds United winger Raphinha will travel to Barcelona on Wednesday as he looks to wrap up his dream move.

The 25-year old, who trained at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training ground on Tuesday, is waiting to hear that he can be registered as a Barcelona player before his £56million transfer is confirmed.

The Spanish side have prepared a five-year deal for the Brazilian. They have have also given Ousmane Dembele a new contract until 2024 worth up to £8.4m a year after tax. However, they need clearance from LaLiga first.

Raphinha scored nine goals in 27 Premier League appearances for Leeds United last season and made his senior debut for Brazil in October. 

His contract at Elland Road was due to until 2024, but he will leave the club early to join the Catalan giants next term. 

The new will come as a blow to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who is close to finalising a deal with Manchester City for Raheem Sterling. 

Barcelona have also handed Dembele a new contract after months of negotiations regarding the terms of his new deal.

The club and player had been discussing a new deal for months but they struggled to reach any common ground. As a result, his contract expired on June 30. 

However, despite being a free agent, Dembele had little interest from other clubs and subsequently returned to the negotiating table with Barcelona.
