Chelsea to gazump Man Utd with part-ex deal for De Jong; Liverpool’s £102m Juve raid

Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt applaud Holland fans.

Chelsea have offered two defenders and £51million for Man Utd target Frenkie De Jong, while Liverpool are being linked with two Juventus stars…

CHELSEA OFFER DUO IN DE JONG DEAL
As if their pursuit of Frenkie De Jong wasn’t complex enough for Manchester United, here come Chelsea, with their Champions League football and their part-exchange offers…

United have been trying to pin down De Jong all summer, with Erik ten Hag viewing the the Barcelona midfielder as an essential addition during his first summer in charge. Initially, De Jong didn’t fancy it until Barca made it clear he’d be off if they were offered a good deal. Liverpool are also being linked with De Ligt, and his Juve team-mate Adrien Rabiot, as part of a £102million deal, according to Corriere dello Sport. Not sodding likely, we’d suggest.

UNITED, BAYERN EYE OSIMHEN
United jet off on their pre-season tour today but Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be boarding the plane.

The 37-year-old wants to leave the Red Devils, which would leave Ten Hag with another hole in his squad. One he could fill with Victor Osimhen.

United and Bayern are both keen on the Nigeria striker, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, with both clubs set to lose leading centre-forwards. Ronaldo has been linked with Napoli, who are also being linked with a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, if Osimhen is on his way.

PSG WANT LEWANDOWSKI AND SCAMACCA
Bayern’s concern surrounds Robert Lewandowski, who wants to join Barca, even if the Catalans are unable to move decisively for the Poland goal-machine.
