Ronaldo ’emergency’ for Ten Hag; Man Utd, Arsenal battle over £40m cut-price Bayern winger

Erik Ten Hag manhandles Ronaldo

Ten Hag has called an emergency board meeting which changes nothing as United battle Arsenal for a cut-price German international…

RONALDO ‘EMERGENCY’
Erik ten Hag will make an ’emergency board request’, according to Mirror, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s announcement that he wants to leave the club this summer, which is set to change the club’s transfer plans in no way whatsover…

Ronaldo has apparently suddenly realised that United have no hope of winning anything signficant this season, and Mirror claim Ten Hag is now calling on the board to ‘do what it takes’ to sign Antony. Weren’t they doing that anyway? Well, quite.

He’s also not really a striker, and was supposed to be a solution to their other forwards getting all upset at having to play on the right rather than the left.

£70m is the figure that’s being put about for Antony, who, like Martinez, fancies a move to Old Trafford.

MAN UTD, ARSENAL SERGE
Arsenal and Manchester United are currently embroiled in a transfer battle for Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez.

The Gunners are said to have made three offers, all of which have fallen below the Dutch side’s valuation, and United have bettered it in one with a £37m bid, with Martinez also preferring a move to Old Trafford.

But it’s not just Martinez the pair are said to be locking horns over, as the Daily Star claim they will fight over Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, who has so far refused to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

The report claims his reticence to commit his future has irked Bayern, who now want rid, for a cut price of £40m. Sounds like a steal.

The Bundesliga side certainly don’t want him to sit out his contract and leave for free next summer.

It’s said that there could be ‘consequences’ if he does so; Bayern are understood to be using ‘explosive mind games’.

The report adds: ‘If Gnabry decides against an extension and against a change this summer, he could possibly end up in the stands’.

The Sun have thrown Manchester City into the mix as well, claiming Pep Guardiola will move for Gnabry as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Raheem Sterling. They claim the Germany international will cost just £35m.

TORRES SWAP
Ten Hag wants a defender besides Martinez and Pau Torres’ name has popped up again.

He was among those heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer, before they instead secured the signing of Raphael Varane.

Torres has been a Premier League star in waiting…
