PSG are reportedly “open” to letting French central defender Presnel Kimpembe leave the club this summer.

It was reported this week that the Ligue 1 champions have set an asking price of £43m for the 26-year-old.

He is out of contract in two years’ time and as a result, PSG are willing to let him leave in the coming months.

The centre-half has 28 caps for France and has been an important player for his club in recent seasons.

Chelsea and Juventus are both believed to be interested in signing the player. The Blues are in dire need of new recruits in defence following Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger’s exits.

Kimpembe is left-footed, which is desirable, though the Premier League side have also been linked with Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Manchester City’s Nathan Ake.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Saturday that PSG are “open” to letting the Frenchman depart Paris in the summer transfer window.

Kimpembe is “not out of the project”, but his future at the club “depends” on what proposals are put on the table.

Contract talks are “stalling” as a result. The Parisiens are thought to be interested in signing Inter Milan centre-half Milan Skriniar and Romano revealed they offered German defender Thilo Kehrer in their offer to the Serie A side, but it was turned down.

Meanwhile, talks between Manchester City and Chelsea over a deal for Raheem Sterling are at the “final stages”, as per Ben Jacobs.

City are believed to be looking for around £50m for the England forward. Jacobs says that there is “big confidence on both sides” that a transfer fee will be agreed, while Sterling is “open to the move”.

Football London journalist Bobby Vincent and Chelsea insider Simon Phillips have reported that a £45m plus £10m in add-ons fee has already been agreed.
