ROCHESTER, NY. – Orlando City B (3-7-3, 14 points) dropped a 3-2 decision on Friday night to Rochester New York FC (5-4-4, 23 points) at Monroe Community College in what served as the team’s final game of a four-game road trip.


Forward Jack Lynn found the back of the net again for the Lions which served as his 11th goal of the season. Lynn is currently tied for the most goals in MLS NEXT Pro alongside Jacen Russell-Rowe of Columbus Crew 2. It also serves as the ninth goal Lynn has scored in the last seven games for the Club. Brandon Hackenburg also earned his first assist of the season on the Lynn goal sending the set piece in.

The match also saw Neicer Acosta come on in the 60th minute and later score his first goal of the campaign for the Lions. It was fifth appearance for the Club and his first goal contribution of the season. Halftime substitute Nick Taylor bagged his second assist of the season finding Acosta before the run. Taylor has now recorded one goal and one assist in the Club’s last three games.

The play started off with a corner kick for the home side and after the ball pinballed between a few different players, it fell to Lamar Batista who was able to smash it into the back of the net right in front of the goal.

45+1′ Gibran Rayo (Ian Garrett) – ROC 2, OCB 0

Rochester doubled their lead right before the break after Ian Garrett drove the ball across the face of goal from the left flank and found Gibran Rayo who headed it past the City goalkeeper.

62′ Gibran Rayo (Pedro Dolabella) – ROC 3, OCB 0

The home side added another after Pedro Dolabella whipped the ball across the front of the goal and found a striding Rayo who tapped the ball across the line and earned a brace on the night.

65′ Jack Lynn (Brandon Hackenberg) – OCB 1, ROC 3

Brandon Hackenberg whipped the set piece from the left wing into the box where the Rochester goalkeeper let the ball bounce past him as it found Jack Lynn at the back post who headed it over the sprawling goalkeeper and over the goal line.

90+6 Neicer Acosta (Nick Taylor) – OCB 2, ROC 3

The Lions pulled another goal back courtesy of Neicer Acosta who picked the ball up at midfield from Nick Taylor, dribbled around the defender and cruised down the left flank before calmly sending the shot past the goalkeeper and into the net.
