Chelsea transfer a ‘serious possibility’ for winger as Man City look for €100-110m ‘package’

Chelsea target Raheem Sterling celebrates a goal

A transfer to Chelsea is a “serious possibility” for Raheem Sterling this summer but Manchester City want big money for him, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Widespread reports have indicated that Chelsea and Inter Milan have agreed a deal that will see Romelu Lukaku return to the San Siro next season on a loan deal.

And now the Blues are reportedly looking for forwards to add to their attack this summer with Sterling, Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele heavily linked.

Italian journalist Romano now has an update on Sterling’s potential move to Stamford Bridge this summer with Man City looking for a €100-110m “package” for Gabriel Jesus and the England international.

Romano added: “I expect Chelsea to try again after they complete and sign the Romelu Lukaku to Inter deal, which is almost done. They just need to announce it.

“I really feel this Sterling deal is a serious possibility for Chelsea. I think it’s possible, definitely.”

“Definitely he’s a fantastic player and can bring something special. But that’s not going to solve the problems Chelsea have, I think in terms of scoring goals and bringing the confidence back to all the players.

“What it’s not going to resolve as well is the crosses from the two wings, by Reece James and [Ben Chilwell].

“It’s going to be tricky if they don’t find somebody who can head the ball because neither Sterling nor Werner, Pulisic or even Mount are capable of giving something special from crosses. Maybe Havertz…
