Sky Bet Championship outfit QPR have announced that they have signed Dutch left-back Kenneth Paal on a three-year deal.
The 24-year-old joins the Championship side following the termination of his contract with PEC Zwolle.
QPR manager Michael Beale first spotted the defender – who came through the ranks at PSV – at a youth tournament over ten years ago.
Burnley do not have the luxury of time to make mistakes so Vincent Kompany is a risk
“I am so happy that we have Kenneth at our club,” Beale told the club website.
“He is a player that gives us lots of quality and versatility on the left side of the pitch.
“He comes with an excellent CV and, importantly, with a huge desire to play for our club and to push his career onwards.”
Speaking on his move to QPR, Paal said this transfer fills him with excitement:
“I am very excited and can’t wait to work with the group.
“I don’t know how it is to play outside of the Netherlands so I am looking forward to the competition, the stadiums and the big games.
“I am almost 25 and I feel my body is ready to play outside the Netherlands. I always said I wanted to do this.”
He added: “[Beale] followed me for a long time, he knows where I came from and my qualities, but also the things I have to improve.
“When I spoke to him I told him, ‘I want this and I will fight for you.”
