Three LA Galaxy Players Called into Respective National Teams for 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship

LOS ANGELES – FIFA today announced the selection of Los Angeles as an official host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ that will be played across Canada, Mexico and the United States. In a globally televised live announcement from New York City, Los Angeles was named among the cities that will host the first edition of the World Cup to feature 48 teams and three host countries in the tournament’s history. This marks the first time three nations have been selected to co-host a FIFA World Cup™, and the event’s first return to North America in 32 years.

Our experience when the Rose Bowl hosted the Finals of the 1994 FIFA World Cup™ and 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup™, as well as the world-class infrastructure, vibrant communities, and our status as one of the nation’s richest soccer cultures set the Los Angeles region apart.”
