Spurs chief Paratici to ‘hold talks’ with Torino director over Serie A star ‘perfect’ for Conte

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici.

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is set to ‘hold talks’ with Torino over a deal for Gleison Bremer this week, in a move which could hamped Manchester United’s plans.

Bremer has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League sides, including Chelsea, United and Spurs, all of whom are looking to strengthen their defensive options this summer.

Various reports have claimed vast differences in Torino’s valuation of the 25-year-old, with the latest claiming the Serie A side want €50m for him this summer.

And according to Tuttosport (via TEAMtalk), Spurs are taking steps to secure the Brazilian’s signature.

Paratici is set meet Torino director Davide Vagnati in London this week to ‘hold talks’ over a deal.

The Spurs chief sees Bremer as the ‘perfect’ option for Antonio Conte next season.

Inter Milan also want the centre-back and it was claimed earlier this month that they ‘have an agreement’ in place to sign him.

But Vagnati has denied these reports, suggesting that Bremer is not “close” to signing for Inter:

“He was the best in the league, he was voted for,” Vagnati said.

“In addition to being a great defender, he is also an exceptional guy and a great leader.

“There are many clubs interested, but we will see. Inter are a possibility, but to say he is close to the Nerazzurri is an exaggeration.”

Meanwhile, Conte is said to be ready to ’embrace’ Cristian Eriksen’s return to the club.

Eriksen  – who left Spurs for Inter at the start of 2020 – returned to the Premier League earlier this year as he joined Brentford on a free transfer.

The midfielder shone for the Bees before the end of the 2021/22 campaign. He was involved in five goals in eleven league outings.

His deal expires this summer and he is said to be attracting the interest of several Premier League clubs.

Italian journalist Afredo Pedulla is reporting that Eriksen has decided to leave Brentford as he ‘wants a new important challenge’.

It is stated that ‘many clubs’ in the Premier League ‘would like to sign him up’.

Pedulla goes onto suggest that Antonio Conte ‘would be happy to embrace him again’ at Tottenham Hotspur.
