However, it is Barcelona that are leading the race to land the prolific striker, with transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reporting that Lewandowski has made contact with Xavi about a potential move to the Nou Camp.

Romano is claiming that a three-year contract has also been discussed, with the plan to sign Lewandowski and make him the man to lead the line for Barcelona being ‘clear’.

The report also claims that it’s now up to Bayern and a cash-strapped Barcelona to thrash out a deal to make it happen.

Lewandowski is also said to have not spoken with any other clubs as of yet, given he wants to prioritise a move to Barcelona.
